Christopher Akrill

Movement Associate

Chris was born in York and trained at the Northern Ballet School in Manchester.

Chris has performed worldwide with the Scottish Ballet, Northern Ballet Theatre, Malmö Ballet, in Dusseldorf, Hanover and the Cullberg Ballet in Stockholm, Sweden. He has worked with choreographers Mats Ek, Ohad Naharin, Jiri Kylian, Hans Van Manen, Christopher Gable, Stijn Celis, Massimo Morricone and Didy Veldman.

Theatre and Dance credits include: Prince Siegfried in Mats Ek’s SWAN LAKE; Mercutio in ROMEO AND JULIET; Carabosse in SLEEPING BEAUTY; Ebenezer Scrooge in A CHRISTMAS CAROL; Dr Hawley Harvey Crippin in the musical ONE TOUCH OF VENUS. He created and played Captain Alving in Cathy Marston’s IBSEN’S GHOSTS; Pinocchio and Lampwick in William Tuckett’s PINOCCHIO, Victor and Emcee (cover) CABARET (Lyric Theatre); Pet Shop Boys Ballet - The Most Incredible Thing (Sadlers Wells Theatre, MIF); WAITING FOR GODOT (Munich); L’ORETEO THE SILENT OPERA; WIND THE WILLOWS (Duchess Theatre); IF PLAY IS PLAY, THREE AND FOUR QUARTERS; PINOCCHIO, GHOSTS (Royal Opera House); TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD (Regent’s Park, Barbican and national tour); THE MAN IN THE EXPECTED, THE WHITE BIKE, THE SNOW QUEEN & EUGENE.
